City vs Real Madrid part II

On Wednesday the time has finally come and the semi-finals of the Champions League enter the next round. Although there is still one matchday between us and the long-awaited final, the clash that our analysis deals with is considered by many fans to be the early final. The two top teams Manchester City and Real Madrid meet in one of the most interesting games of the year. In the first leg they separated with a 1:1 draw and now it's off to England for the second half of the season. Manchester City host the reigning Champions League winners at home and a win can bring them one step closer to the long-awaited success in the Champions League.

Hunting the treble 

The season could still be extremely successful for the hosts of the second leg in the semi-finals of the Champions League. They still have a chance of a triple. They are currently first in the league, having been behind Arsenal for a long time. Now they could take the lead in the table and even have a game less. It seems quite likely that the Premier League can be won again. In the FA Cup, England's most famous national cup, they  now meet city rivals Manchester United in the final. They are the favorites for both trophies and have a good chance of success.

However, the most coveted achievement is by far the Champions League. Since the takeover by the new owners, it has been the overarching goal for years. Although they've always been one of the favorites in recent years, they played surprisingly poorly. They were able to strengthen themselves again for the new season and now it seems as if the time could finally have come. Together with the star striker Erling Haaland and a complete team, they try to secure the handle pot of the premier class.

The past few weeks and months could hardly have gone better for the hosts. They are unbeaten in 22 games and their last defeat was against Tottenham Hotspur in February. They've been able to prove many times that they can beat top teams and deserve the title as probably the best team in the world at the moment. In the last five games they have a record of four wins and a draw, which was in the first leg against Real Madrid. With this form it seems quite likely that they can reach the final.

Manchester City like to switch between different tactics. Both the back three and the back four can be played on the defensive. However, the latter was a little more common. In terms of formation, the 4-3-3 formation was the most common. We expect the classic 4-3-3 formation with the world-famous Pep Guardiola tactics for the game on Wednesday.

Real Madrid: Never too late for changing the tie

Even if the guests from Madrid have their backs to the wall, the club in the capital should never be written off prematurely. At home they probably had the best opportunity to ensure a good starting position, but they still don't hang their heads. One only too fondly remembers last year's meeting. Here, too, the situation seems to be clearly in Manchester City's favor, but here a surprising last-minute turnaround saved them into the final. They seem to function particularly well under pressure and for Madrid the game is only over when the referee finally blows the whistle. 

If they can win the Champions League, it would be their fourth title this season. They could see the Spanish Cup, secure the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. It wasn't enough to win the Spanish league again, as eternal rivals FC Barcelona were just too strong for that. Even if the situation doesn't look too good, Real Madrid is the Champions League team par excellence. It is by far the record winner and has already secured the title 14 times.

The guests can't show as good a form as Manchester City in comparison. They play a strong season, but they also give up surprising points from time to time. In the last five games they have a record of three wins, one draw and one loss. However, it has to be said that, apart from the draw against Manchester City, they didn't meet very strong teams. However, as mentioned, the Madrid side are always good for an upset and definitely have the squad to rise to any challenge.

Real Madrid have only used a back four in defense this season. The 4-3-3 formation was also used in about nine out of ten games. Based on the obvious clues, we expect the 4-3-3 formation again for Wednesday's game. In terms of injury, there are also no failures to complain about.

Manchester City - Real Madrid: What to expect? 

We expect a very close game on Wednesday. Even if Manchester City is considered the favorite and plays at home, you should never underestimate the record winner of the Champions League Real Madrid. We expect the English champions to dominate the game but the result will remain close. Despite this, we believe the time has come for Manchester City to advance to the final. We believe that they can prevail directly in regular time and would therefore recommend tip 1. Furthermore, we believe that due to the enormous star power, both teams will score.
