Who will advance to the Coppa Italia final
Inter Milan host Juventus in the second leg of the Coppa Italia semifinals on Wednesday. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, both teams still have a good chance of reaching the final. Inter will of course build on the home advantage. For Juventus it could already be the 4th defeat in a row in Italy after losing all of the last 3 league games.
For many it is already an early final which Inter Milan and Juventus Turin are contesting. The two top teams actually meet for the second leg of the semifinals. After a 1-1 in the first leg, it is now decided who will move into the final. There are no clear favorites in such a top game, but Inter Milan is slightly favored due to home advantage.
Juve is also in a small crisis, because in Serie A the club has suffered 3 defeats in a row. Internationally, however, things are going a lot better for both teams. Inter are in the semi-finals of the Champions League and Juve are in the semi-finals of the Europa League. Both teams still have the chance of a second title this season.

The biggest title chance for Inter this season
Although the team surprisingly made it into the semi-finals of the Champions League, we would describe the hosts' season as disappointing. In the league they started the season as a championship candidate and are now only in 6th place. The danger of missing out on the Champions League places is real, so next season they might settle for the Europa League. In the Champions League they are certainly showing their strongest performances this year, but they were also a bit lucky with Benfica in the quarter-finals. Winning the title would be quite a surprise, even if we think they are capable of reaching the final, after all there is a derby against AC Milan in the semifinals.Probably the best chances for the title are in the Coppa Italia. After a 1-1 draw in the first leg, they have the home advantage and would probably face Fiorentina in a possible final.
It is already rumored that Inter will be looking for a new coach in the summer. Simone Inzaghi would probably only be able to prevent this with the title in the Champions League. The performance in the league has been bad for weeks and far below expectations. Although they were the first pursuers of leaders Napoli for a long time, they have now fallen back to 6th place. With a game more than AS Roma in 4th place, they are separated by 2 points on a Champions League place. On the last day of the game, they clinched another win away at FC Empoli. Previously, they remained whole 5 league games in a row without a win. After 31 games they had to accept 11 defeats this year and thus the most of all teams in the top half of the table.
In the Coppa Italia the team has conceded only 2 goals in 3 games so far. In the round of 16 against FC Parma, the game was narrowly won 2-1. The quarter-finals were won 1-0 against Atalanta Bergamo and in the first leg of the semi-finals they drew 1-1 against Juventus Turin. In the league they have conceded 34 goals in 31 games so far. However, they rarely concede more than one goal. This was last the case at Inter 14 games ago. They conceded more than one goal in the 2-2 draw against AC Monza on matchday 17. This was on January 7th, 2023 and at the same time the only league game in 2023 where more than one goal was conceded. On the last day of the game, they won 0:3 away against FC Empoli in the league.
Coach Simone Inzaghi threw his team through a bit last weekend. In the 0:3 win against FC Empoli, Romelu Lukaku got his chance from the start and took advantage of it with 2 goals. Next to him Joaquin Corra stormed. Both regular strikers Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko were rested at the beginning. Midfielder Nicolo Barella also got a short break and was only substituted on. In total, the coach made no fewer than 7 changes. Although this worked well, he will probably fall back on his regular top performers in the game against Juventus.
Can Juventus find their way?
The season of Juventus Turin is difficult to assess. Due to the withdrawn point deduction, the team is back in a good 3rd place in the league. The starting position for a Champions League should actually be very good, but after 3 defeats in a row the lead in 5th place is just 3 points and the current form does not necessarily speak for the old lady. But they still have the chance to win 2 titles this year. In the Europa League they are in the semi-finals and are one of the big favorites for the title. The same applies in the Coppa Italia, where they are also in the semi-finals and in the first leg they drew 1-1 against Inter Milan. However, they have to win the away game in Milan to get into the final. However, the visitors have been waiting for a win for 3 games and have only won one of the last 6 games.
Similar to their opponents, Juventus has good and bad phases this season. In the last few weeks, however, the bad phases have clearly predominated here, because Juventus has only been able to win one of their last 6 games. This was the quarter-final home game against Sporting Lisbon, which was won 1-0. After that, a 1-1 draw was enough to get them into the semi-finals. The last game so far was lost 0:1 against Napoli in the league. It was Juve's third defeat in a row in the league. In these last 3 games they conceded only 4 goals, but they scored only one goal. In general, the offensive has been the construction site in the last few weeks, because in the last 8 games they have never managed to score more than one goal. They last managed to do this in a 2-0 away win in the Europa League against SC Freiburg.
Like their opponents, Juventus made a few changes last weekend. The often seeded offensive players Dusan Vlahovic, Angel Di Maria and Federico Chiesa were all on the bench. Homegrown and young star Nicolo Fagioli also got a little break. Only captain Danilo played on the defensive from the start. His real partners in the back three, Bremer and Alex Sandro, took a seat on the bench. Despite having so many top performers on the bench, Juventus performed well and only lost the game in the last few seconds. Coach Massimiliano Allegri will still promote some of his top performers to the team.
Inter - Juventus: What to expect?
Due to the poor form of the two teams, there is no clear favorite in this game. However, Inter has the home advantage on its side and with Juventus, a team that often struggles a lot away from home. We would therefore resort to a draw no bet 1 bet . We don't expect too many goals from the two teams, as the last few games have already shown. As an alternative, we therefore recommend a bet on under 2.5 goals.
- Inter won’t lose (1X or 1 DNB)
- Under 2.5 goals
