IPL 2024 Auction: Starc, Mitchell, Rizvi among top buys
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Player Auction was held on December 19, 2023, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, featuring 333 cricketers who went under the hammer1. Out of these, 77 players were sold, including 30 overseas players, for a total of ₹2,30,45,00,000.

The most expensive player of the auction was Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc, who was bought by Kolkata Knight Riders for a whopping ₹24,75,00,000. Starc, who had opted out of the previous edition of the IPL due to personal reasons, was in high demand among the franchises, as he is considered one of the best pacers in the world.
