Pep’s… messy City
It’s definitely a weird period for England’s champions Manchester City. So weird, that the club could be easily renamed to… messy City. Joao Cancelo left for Bayern Munich, reports mention of internal problems in the squad, but also about some serious legal financial issues which could lead to heavy consequences.

Manchester City analysis
The home game against the Spurs (0-2 to 4-2) would be the turning point for their season, but then they faced another weak game against the same team last weekend. Also difficult to understand Pep decisions in team selections. This game comes just two days before the important away game against Arsenal at the Emirates. A game they must win if they are to have any chance of overtaking Arsenal (provided there are no points deducted as a result of the financial doubts). So maybe not an optimal position for a top effort here with the best possible team, Champions League as well around the corner as well. City conceded goals in seven of the last nine league games.
Aston Villa analysis
Aston Villa have gradually improved since Emery took over, although it remains uneven. The Spaniard may not be a super-offensive coach, but in the squad there is some offensive power in Watkins, Buendia and Bailey, among others. Don't usually attach much importance to previous meetings, but both have netted in six of the last seven head-to-head.
So historically, Villa has stood up decently against Pep's gang. Only league games left for Aston Villa and they have a game a week at the moment - so nothing to skimp on here. Is quite safely in the middle of the table so they can try to go for this.
Manchester City - Aston Villa: What to expect?
It is almost obvious that City will score themselves. It is extremely rare that they leave a league match goalless. To then get such high odds that Villa will also score attracts me in any case. Man City are not the same dominant machine this year (at least not in every game). And they keep fewer clean sheets, concede more goal scoring chances. Both Arsenal and Newcastle have conceded fewer goals. That's why I'm attracted by both teams netting here. 2-1, 3-1 or similar feel like possible final results.
