Everton host a Tottenham without Antonio Conte

Antonio Conte is no longer on the sidelines with the guests. The Italian has officially parted ways with the club. Spurs' goal is still to get a place in the Champions League, and for that they need a win at Everton. These are currently in the best shape of the season.

Strong Toffees meet chaotic Spurs

Tottenham have been in the headlines more often than usual in the past week. This was primarily due to the separation from coach Antonio Conte. This broke up with the club and then left it. Cristian Stellini will take his place in the dugout until a new coach is signed. Of course, this is not an ideal situation for the guests, after all they are fighting for a place in the Champions League. The home side can only dream of such problems, as they have been in a relegation battle all season and still are. After good performances recently under the new coach Sean Dyche, they climbed up to 15th place in the table.

Once again Everton FC is in a relegation battle this season. The Toffees only just managed to stay up in the 16th table last season. This year they are in 15th place after 28 games, even though they are currently in what is probably the best phase of the season. The hosts haven't lost for 3 games, most recently they even drew 2:2 away at Chelsea. The balance under the new coach Sean Dyche is balanced after 8 games and can therefore be rated positively. Despite everything, only 2 points separate them from a relegation zone. Everton FC can therefore probably not afford defeat. Especially in their own stadium, they have also shown strong performances recently. They now want to do the same against Tottenham Hotspur.

One of the big problems this season is the offensive. Together with newly promoted Nottingham Forest, they have scored the fewest goals in the Premier League. In 28 games they were only successful 22 times and so much less often than once per game. This didn't get much better under Sean Dyche either, because under him only 7 goals were scored in 8 games. But that they definitely have potential was seen on the last day of the game against Chelsea where they scored 2 goals. In the current squad of the Toffees, however, there are only 2 games that have more than 2 goals on the account! With just 4 goals, Demarai Gray is already the top scorer.

The hosts have picked up a total of 26 points this season, 17 of which have come at home. They can therefore be assessed much more clearly in front of their own fans than in foreign stadiums. In the home table, this is only enough for Everton for 15th place. However, the record is much better with 5 wins, 2 draws and 7 defeats, even if they lost half of their home games. The trend here is clearly upwards, because 3 of the last 4 home games could be won. Among other things, there was a 1-0 win against leaders Arsenal. In general, they managed to keep a clean sheet in all 3 home games. The only goals conceded at home since the beginning of February were those of Aston Villa in the 0-2 defeat.

The Spurs in chaos

Antonio Conte is no longer manager at Tottenham Hotspur after weeks of mutual accusations. After being eliminated in the Champions League in the round of 16 and rather inconsistent performances in the Premier League, they were not a high-flyer this year either. Now the rumor mill is already buzzing about who will be the successor. Names like Julian Nagelsmann or Luis Enrique have already been mentioned. Cristian Stellini is currently in charge of the club and we will also be on the sidelines in the game against Everton at the weekend. His task will be to win the game and, above all, to stabilize the defense a bit. In the top half of the Premier League, no team has conceded more goals than Spurs.4th place is in serious danger, after all, with 2 more games on the account, they are only 2 points ahead of Newcastle United.

While the Spurs won 10 of 14 home games this year, they have only won 5 in 14 away games so far. In this table they therefore only take the 6th place. With 5 losses they have also lost exactly o many games as they have won. Another 4 games ended in a draw. Just like the balance, the goal difference is balanced and stands at 23:24 hits. Again, the main problem is the defensive, after all, the team conceded more than 1.7 goals per away game. After all, they managed to keep the zero in 4 of 5 games won. However, the last away win was some time ago and happened on January 23, 2023 against Fulham. Since then they have gone 3 away games in a row without a win, 2 of which they have even lost.

Also this year the outstanding player in the team is Harry Kane. With 21 goals under his belt, he is his team's top scorer and number 2 in the Premier League behind Erling Haaland. The Englishman once again gets too little support. His otherwise brilliant partner Heung min-Son has just 6 goals this year and the big-money Brazilian Richarlison has failed to score at all in the Premier League this year. Only 4 players in the squad have 4 or more goals on their account. One of them, Rodrigo Bentancur, is still injured. The winter newcomers Pedro Porro and Arnaut Danjuma should increase the breadth of the squad. Especially the Portuguese made a good impression in his first games. However, it is not yet known how the new coach will line up and there could be a surprise or two.

Everton - Tottenham: What to expect?

On paper, Spurs are the clear favorites in this game. However, they have just fired their coach and still have no well-known replacement. Everton, on the other hand, has been convincing under coach Sean Dyche in recent weeks. A winning bet is therefore difficult to predict. The Spurs have big problems defensively this year, but we think they can score anytime. In our opinion, the best bet variant is therefore a bet on "Both teams to score YES".
