Finishing the job in Albania
The first round of qualifying for the Conference Legaue has ended. In the second leg of the second round, Besiktas Istanbul meets the Albanian runners-up again. This time the match will be played at the Air Albania Stadium, and as hosts KF Tirana will try to make up for the loss in the first leg. Last week the “Black Eagles” defeated their opponents in a very one-sided game with 3-1.This was the first official game of the season for Besiktas and a perfect start. Tirana have already gone through one round in the competition beating Dinamo Batumi 3-2 on aggregate after a draw in the first game.

Partizani Tirana form
Things have been looking up for the Albanian side since Orges Shehi took over as coach at KF Tirana. In the previous season they were champions, in the last one it was unfortunately only enough for a good second place. They even played in the CL qualifiers, but then narrowly lost against F91 Dudelingen. Also in the Conference League they were eliminated in the first round against Zrinjski Mostar. In return, Tirana made it to the final in the national cup. But even there they were denied the title. This season they intend to win one or the other title.
Besiktas form
After Besiktas did not achieve the best results in the 21/22 season under Valerien Ismael, former LASK coach, and only finished sixth, Senol Günes was chosen as coach. He was already known because Günes was with the “Black Eagles” before he became national coach. Although the born Turk is already 71 years old, he was able to impress with his performances. Under his leadership, Besiktas managed to climb back onto the podium and take third place. This year the goal is clearly the championship title. Also in the cup they want to do better than last year. Besiktas Istanbul lost to Ankaragucu in a thrilling penalty shoot-out match in the round of 16.
The first leg of the 2nd qualifying round for the Conference League between Beşiktaş and KF Tirana took place on Thursday evening. Beşiktaş, 16-time Turkish champions, competed in a variable 4-3-3 formation with no summer signings. They dominated the game from the start and put the Albanian team under pressure. In the 21st minute, Onur Bulut made it 1-0 after a cross from Arthur Masuaku. Just before the break, Jackson Muleka made it 2-0 with a left-footed shot.
Coach Günes' team kept control of the game in the second half as well, but they lacked the necessary efficiency in the end. The players seemed happy with the 2-0 lead and missed a few chances. In the 83rd minute, KF Tirana seized the opportunity and scored the goal through Kainã Nunes to make it 2-1. That goal woke the visitors up but Beşiktaş continued to dominate overall. In the final stages of the game, Semih Kılıçsoy, who had come on as a substitute, pulled off an impressive solo that ended with a powerful shot on goal to decide the game and hand Beşiktaş a 3-1 win. Although Beşiktaş deservedly won, the game showed that they need to be vigilant to avoid moments of inattention in the second leg against KF Tirana.
Partizani Tirana - Besiktas: What to expect?
We're betting on tip 2 as we think Besiktas will be the better team in this match and get a second win. Nevertheless, Besiktas will now be more defensive, which could lead to few goals. That's why we choose a tip under 2.5 goals.
- Besiktas to win
- Under 2.5
