A meeting of two surprise teams

Newcastle United and Manchester United follow in the remaining two Champions League places with 59 points each. Tottenham follow in fifth place and right behind them in sixth place comes the home team from our analysis, Aston Villa. Liverpool FC is in seventh place. In addition to the smaller teams, there is surprisingly also Chelsea FC in midfield, which just doesn't seem to be coming out of its slump. At the other end of the table, the situation also remains tense and the relegation battle begins from 16th place in the table. Five teams are realistically fighting not to be one of the three relegated teams. These five teams are Leeds United, Leicester City, Everton FC, Nottingham Forest and Southampton in the appropriate order from top to bottom.

Aston Villa the favorites in this duel
As already mentioned in the introduction, the hosts from Birmingham are considered the favorites to win. Although the two teams are only three places in the table and six points apart, the odds are very clear. This is probably mainly due to the fact that the season is a bit better and they are playing at home, which is why they are hoping for a lot of support from the fans.
The hosts from Birmingham are considered one of the big surprise teams in the current Premier League season. After ending the season in 14th place in the table last year, they are currently in sixth place in the table. They could collect 51 points from 32 games and would even qualify for the Europa League at the current time. Most recently they were able to place themself so well in the 09/10 season, but they shouldn't praise the day before the evening, after all there are still six game days left in which a lot can still change. At least they can fully concentrate on the league after being eliminated early in both English cups. Against Fulham on Tuesday they have the chance to fix and prove themselves in sixth place.
Only the last few weeks have made the season so promising for Aston Villa. They could successfully free themselves step by step from the lower middle of the table and advance to sixth place in the table. They are now unbeaten in nine games and have only had to accept two draws in that time. In the last five games they are tied with four wins and one draw. So they seem very well prepared for Fulham FC and will want to try to continue the excellent form.
Fulham FC: Good season for the promoted team
Fulham FC is also having a successful season. After being crowned champions in the Championship last season, they have now been promoted to the Premier League. However, many expected a season in the table basement or shortly before. At this point in time, however, it looks like it could exceed expectations. They are in ninth place in the table with 45 points from 31 games played. Although there is little hope that they can still reach European places, the season can probably still be booked as a success.
Unlike Aston Villa, Fulham are not in quite as good shape. In the last few weeks they had to suffer some defeats and slight losses in rank. After losing five games in a row, they finally got back on track and have had two wins since then. Nevertheless, the record from the last five games is only two wins and three losses. It won't be easy against the in-form hosts. Winning, but it would be an even bigger sign towards the competition.
Aston Villa - Fulham: What to expect?
If you look at the direct comparison of the two teams from the last few years, you get a fairly balanced picture. In the last ten meetings, Fulham FC have won six times. In the same span of time, Aston Villa managed to win four games. It is striking that more than 2.5 goals were scored in most games. That's why we expect this again on Tuesday and would recommend this tip. In addition, we expect Aston Villa to assert itself as the winner, as expected by the bookies.
