Internazionale Milano analysis
Inter have started now and impressed me greatly when they beat Atalanta 1-0 in the Coppa Italia this week. And thus the runner-up in the series was ready for the semi-finals. That's totally fair. Inter dominated in terms of play and finally got the reward against a good defensive opposition when Matteo Darmian made it 1-0.
There is much that is up at Inter, one of those things being Romelu Lukaku approaching top form. He last started against Atalanta and is soon a strong 90-minute player again. Together with Lautaro Martínez, he will do a lot of good this spring, yes already this weekend in my opinion.
AC Milan analysis
If most things are up in Inter, it is not the same with the reigning champions as well as neighbors Milan. Last six games? Two crosses and four losses! They have collapsed completely and now ended up outside the top 4. Most recently they fell at home against Sassuolo with 5-2!
The team is badly injured, new on the absentee list is infielder Ismael Bennacer. Then someone like Fikayo Tomori is doubtful again. Also absent are Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Sergino Dest, Alessandro Florenzi, Mike Maignan.
Inter - Milan: What to expect?
Of course a derby is a derby and matches like this often take on a life of their own. But! Considering form and squad situation, I think everything points to Inter taking home the Derby della Madonnina.
