Does Djoker have another arrow in the quiver?
36 years and not a bit old - that's how Novak Djokovic plays. With his 23 Grand Slam victories, he leads the historical ranking. Of course, he would like to extend his lead and create a monument for eternity. Another triumph at Wimbledon would be very convenient for him. But the Russian Andrey Rublev stands in his way. He made his way through the competition at the All England Club in London with flying colours and has already topped his previous best by reaching the quarter-finals. Of course, he would also like to record another success on Tuesday and advance to the semifinals. However, one thing is certain: both tennis players cannot advance to the next round.

Can Rublev win this one?
Are there any arguments in favour of Rublev? Don't underestimate his good form. He has won ten of the last eleven tennis matches. His only defeat, against Bublik in Halle, he took revenge on in the last Wimbledon round. However, there are things that speak against Andrey Rublev. These include his previous successes in Grand Slams. Because he made it to the quarter-finals a total of seven times – but never went beyond. In Wimbledon it was even over in the round of 16 at most. He has already broken that record. We currently find Rublev in seventh place in the men's ATP world rankings. His best position was fifth, which he held on September 13, 2021. In an impressive career, he has won 267 games and lost just 145 times.
In the duel with Bublik, Andrey Rublev had a hard time. In the end, however, he won in five sets with 7:5, 6:3, 6:7, 6:7 and 6:4. Perhaps this duel cost strength. Are two days enough to regenerate? Rublev had previously won 3-1 sets over Belgian Goffin. The final score was 6:3, 6:7, 7:6 and 6:2. We also see the 6:7, 6:3, 6:4 and 7:5 about Karatsev. One thing we would like to state in the middle of the analysis: Rublev has a penchant for tie-breaking. Only through the first round of Wimbledon did he confidently march through with a 6:3, 7:5 and 6:4 against Purcell. In the Boodles Challenge, he knocked out Italy's Musetti and Canada's Auger-Aliassime 2-0. Before that he had to suffer the 1:2 defeat (3:6, 6:3 and 3:6)
How good is Djokovic
Novak Djokovic was the measure of all things in tennis for a long time. He is still one of the best players today, although he is of advanced tennis age. He recently won the French Open again. He just never seems to run out of strength. Overall, he won an impressive 23 Grand Slam titles. That is why he is also one of the favourites at Wimbledon 2023. His most successful competitor, Rafael Nadal, is not there. But with Alcaraz, another Spanish challenger has entered the scene. Djokovic is hard to beat. He almost always makes it very far in the big tournaments and has now reached the quarterfinals again. In his career, 1,058 wins face only 210 losses. He has won Wimbledon seven times alone - including in the last two years.
Novak Djokovic recently had a persistent opponent in front of his nose. It was against the Pole Hurkacz, whom he defeated with difficulty 7: 6, 7: 6, 5: 7 and 6: 4. The Djoker was in trouble several times, but the Serb knows how to deal with such a situation. Before that, he eliminated Wawrinka more confidently with 6: 3, 6: 1 and 7: 6. There was also a 3:0 after sets (6:3, 7:6 and 7:5) against the Australian Thompson. At the start in Wimbledon, however, the Argentinian Cachin was waiting, whom Novak Djokovic sent home directly with 6: 3, 6: 3 and 7: 6. But there has always been at least one tie-break. Before Wimbledon, Djokovic won 2-1 over Tiafoe in Hurlingham. He also won the French Open, defeating Ruud and Alcaraz, among others.
Rublev - Djokovic: What to expect?
Both opponents have met several times - most recently at the Australian Open 2023, where Djokovic won 3-0 sets. The Djoker also won the finals in Turin with 2-0 sets. Rublev was only able to raise his fist to the sky once - in the 2-1 win in Belgrade/Serbia. So in Djokovic's homeland. Before that, the Djoker won again at the finals in Turin with 2:0. Novak Djokovic won 75 percent of four duels. He is therefore also the favourite in Wimbledon 2023.
Djokovic is strong, but he often had to tie-break. Therefore, we think a win in three sets is unlikely. Four sets is a more logical choice. Nevertheless, we see the Djoker in the lead in a direct duel, because of the slightly better shape and the tendency in a direct comparison. After a detailed prediction, our second betting tip is for Novak Djokovic to win.
- Djokovic to win in 4 sets
