Can Chelsea knock out the reigning Champions League winners?

Chelsea FC is playing a really outstanding Champions League season this year and even won 0-1 away from the reigning title holder Olympique Lyon. The French are under a lot of pressure, after all, only the title counts for them.

Chelsea are in for a surprise in the game against Lyon

The hostesses have developed into a real top team in Europe in recent years. They have twice reached the semi-finals of the Women's Champions League since the 2017/18 season and even reached the final once. There you had to admit defeat to FC Barcelona in 2021. After failing in the group stage last season, you are one of the big favorites again this year. They owe this to a strong group stage on the one hand and the first leg against Olympique Lyon on the other. Away in France they could beat record winners with 0-1.

Can Lyon strike back?

Olympique Lyon have dominated European women's football almost at will in recent years. They have won the UEFA Women's Champions League 6 times in the past 7 years. In France, there has only been one non-championship since 2007, that was in 2021 when Paris was narrowly beaten. The title is therefore only about her again this year. Last year they were able to prevail against FC Barcelona in the final. 

This year, however, things were not easy from the start, because in the group phase they only achieved second place behind Arsenal.Besides 3 wins, they ended 2 games in a draw and one ended in a loss. In those 6 games they scored just 10 goals. They also failed to score in the first leg against Chelsea.

Chelsea (w) - Lyon (w): What to expect? 

It's extremely difficult to predict in this game, but it does seem like Chelsea are in better shape than the champions at the moment. A win bet is extremely risky, but a Tip X as a single bet could be worthwhile. Lyon is surprisingly finding it difficult to score goals this year, which is why we don't expect a goal spectacle. We therefore tip for Under 3.5 goals in the game.
