Last chance for Tottenham
Slowly but surely the Premier League season is drawing to a close and the last few weeks have been just as exciting. Very few teams are satisfied with their position and will still fight for every point. The same applies to the two teams from our analysis. Tottenham Hotspur host Manchester United at home. The fifth in the table meets the fourth in the table. The fans can expect an even game and the guests are only seen as very small favourites.
Unlike most leagues around the world, it's difficult to get a good overview of the Premier League situation. Instead of always being at the same level and having played the same number of games, many games in the English top league were postponed. So it can happen that some teams have already played 32 games and others only 29. Nevertheless, you can take a look at the table situation and see trends.
Newcastle United are third and tied on points, but Manchester United are fourth in the table with a game in hand. They are followed directly by the second team from our analysis, Tottenham Hotspur, which is currently in the Europa League places. The other two European tickets go for now to Aston Villa and Liverpool. You can tell at first glance, that this season has some surprises in store and above all the good placements of Newcastle United and Aston Villa surprise positively, but also the weak season of Chelsea FC, which is only eleventh in the table.

Tottenham Hotspur: Trying to save a disaster season
The next few weeks will be extremely exciting and extremely important for the hosts from London. If the season ended at this point, the season could be considered satisfactory. record half success. They are fifth in the table with 53 points from 32 games played. They would qualify for the Europa League in autumn, but there are other teams lurking just behind Tottenham. If they don't make an effort in the next few weeks, they could even slip into the Conference League place and, in the worst case, outside of Europe. At least they can fully concentrate on the league, after all they've already been eliminated from all the other competitions they compete in.
Lately they couldn't present themselves really well in London. If they want to keep the Europa League place, they have to screw the form curve up again. They could only win three of the last ten games. During this period of time, they drew three times and had to admit defeat four times. The last two encounters also give little hope. They lost both games and suffered a very disappointing defeat against Newcastle United. After 20 minutes some fans left the stadium because they were already 5:0 behind. In the end the game ended in a 6-1 defeat and now it will be exciting to see how Tottenham can fight back. With Manchester United there is not necessarily a team that will make it easy to improve in form.
United for the finish line
After the departure of Ronaldo and the conflicts associated with it were discussed in winter, Manchester United was able to turn the season into a positive one. They are fourth in the table, level on points with Newcastle and have a game more to play. They could fight their way up to third place, which in the end makes little difference as both third and fourth place qualify for the Champions League.
Accordingly, this will also be the remaining goal in the league season. In the Europa League they were considered the favorites for the title, but had to say goodbye after a disappointing game against Sevilla in the quarter-finals. Meanwhile, in the FA Cup, they still have a chance of winning a domestic title. Here they will meet city rivals Manchester City in the final. After all, one could already record a success. Manchester United lifted the EFL Cup trophy after beating Newcastle United 2-0 in the final.
Even if Manchester United has had better weeks, they are currently better than Thursday's opponents, Tottenham Hotspur. Of the last five games you could win three, get a draw and once you had to admit defeat. What is striking, however, is that you seem to have bigger problems, especially against the stronger teams. Again and again there were clashes in which one was disappointed, such as the 6-3 defeat against Manchester City or the 7-0 disgrace against Liverpool.
Tottenham - Manchester United: What to expect?
Even if both teams are among the best clubs from England in our analysis, ManU always seems to be a little better, at least when you look at the direct comparison. This speaks a clear language for the Reds and they have won seven of the last ten meetings. Once they separated in a draw and only twice could the hosts from London prevail. They last won against Manchester in 2020 and have lost four since then.
- Manchester United won’t lose (X2 or 2 DNB)
- Both Teams To Score
